DVLA services, close to home
Our Fakenham post office offers DVLA services, saving you a trip to a DVLA office. You can renew your photocard licence, pick up an application form or tax your vehicle. Our staff are here to help.
D1 and D2 Forms
FakenhamPick up free DVLA application forms at the branch. D1 forms are for car and motorcycle driving licence applications by post, including renewals, photo updates, address or name changes where the online service cannot be used. D2 forms are for lorry and bus (HGV/PCV) licence applications.
- D1 forms cover: first-time applications, renewals, photo updates, address changes, name changes and gender marker changes
- D2 forms are required for lorry, bus and coach entitlement applications
- Both forms are free to collect. No appointment needed
- Forms are used when applying by post to the DVLA, typically for changes that cannot be made online
DVLA Photocard Renewal
FakenhamRenew your photocard driving licence in branch. Photographs are taken in branch to DVLA standards, or customers may provide their own compliant photo. Staff check your application and send it securely to the DVLA electronically. Your old licence is taken at the counter and returned to the DVLA as part of the transaction.
- Total cost: £21.50 (includes the £17 DVLA fee and £4.50 Post Office service fee)
- Bring your current photocard driving licence and D798 renewal reminder, or a D1 form if you have no reminder
- Your new licence should arrive within 3 weeks of the transaction
- Name or title changes cannot be processed in branch. Apply online or by post using a D1 form
- Customers aged 70 and over must renew directly with the DVLA. This cannot be done in branch
Vehicle Tax
FakenhamTax your vehicle at the counter. Customers can renew using their V5C logbook, V5C/2 (new keeper supplement) or V11 renewal reminder. Customers without a V5C can apply for a new one at the same time by completing a V62 form. Road tax Direct Debit can also be set up at the counter.
- Valid documents accepted: V5C logbook, V5C/2 (new keeper supplement), or V11 renewal reminder
- A valid MOT certificate and valid insurance are also required
- Applying for a new V5C using a V62 form incurs a £25 additional fee
- Customers on DVLA records as the registered keeper without a V5C may still be able to tax using a V62
- Vehicle tax Direct Debit can be set up at the counter at the time of taxing
